Blackberry Bold 9700 to be Released

The Blackberry Bold gets a nice upgrade with the newer Bold 9700 model which is expected to be released by next month. If last month’s Blackberry Curve 8520 doesn’t meet for your needs, the Blackberry Bold 9700 might do it.

No indication what processing power is inside but it could be the same as the BB Bold 9000 at 624 MHz.

BlackBerry Storm 2 to Ship in November

Good news for Blackberry mania. Verizon will release RIM BlackBerry Storm 2 soon. BlackBerry Storm 2 is surely an improvement over its predecessor, BlackBerry Storm, as we all know was riddled with bugs and performance issues. We do really hope that the new BlackBerry Storm will wipe out all those poor qualities.

BlackBerry Storm 2 has the same dimensions as the original model, measuring 4.4 in x 2.4 in x 0.5 in and weighing at 5.6 ounces. BlackBerry Storm 2 offers a revamped SurePress touch screen that coupled with the updated BlackBerry OS provide a better user experience. Other improvements include Wi-Fi, more memory, and enhancements to the smartphone’s core functions.

Storm 2 smartphone is the first CDMA BlackBerry to offer Wi-Fi that provides faster speeds. Of course there will be times when we may be out of a 3G coverage zone, so it’s nice to know that we have an alternative method of getting online. Specific details weren’t confirmed, but maybe this November we can expect RIM BlackBerry Storm 2 to ship for around the same price as the original Storm, which was about $200 with a two-year contract.

BlackBerry 9700 Onyx Using Trackpad

There are many reports concerning the launching of new BlackBerry Bold coded 9700 (Onyx) on T-Mobile and AT&T. Most recently we addressed that T-Mobile were to hold an announcement on October 21, with rumors that BlackBerry 9700 (Onyx) will be released on November 11.

T-Mobile has already began to send out invites to corporate customers, the event will announce the arrival of a new BlackBerry, many believe that this is the Bold 2 from RIM. T-Mobile are silent still, just saying that the upcoming BlackBerry handset to be revealed at the event will be its “latest in Wi-Fi calling-enabled BlackBerry device.”

AT&T are expected to launch its version of BlackBerry 9700 (Onyx) as well, almost at the same time. All details of the release date and pricing are vague at this point.

There will be a lot in common with its predecessor BlackBerry 9000, such as its design. The back of the phone has a leather finish and the screen resolution has been increased from 480 by 320 to 480 by 360. The new BlackBerry will apply an optical trackpad instead, which means that there will not be a trackball as on the previous model. RIM has been doing this with all of its latest handsets.
