The 13.4-inch Dell Adamo XPS is now available for US market. Powered by Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit version), this MacBook Air competitor features an high-definition 16:9 WLED 720p monitor with a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV CPU, a 4 GB 800 MHz Dual Channel DDR3 memory, and a 128 GB Solid State Drive. Other features include two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack, a webcam and mic for video conference, a Mini DisplayPort, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. Its Li-Polymer battery can provide up to 5-hours and 17 minutes of operating time. Measuring 340mm x 272mm x 9.99mm and weighing 1.44 kgs, the lightweight Dell Adamo XPS is labeled with price of $1,799.

Asus will soon release their latest Eee PC netbook powered by Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium edition as its operating system. Named as the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP, the 11.6-inch netbook features an Intel Atom Z520 processor with a 2 GB RAM, a 250 GB hard drive, and an Intel GMA 500 graphics chipset. The new Asus netbook is equipped with a rechargeable battery that will provide up to 8-hours of operating time. Available in black or white colors, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA-WP retails for $610 (after conversion).

Sony makes a comeback to the gaming notebook market by rolling out three new notebooks, which as part of the Vaio Fall-Winter Signature collection. The Sony Vaio VGN-FW590FFD offers a 16.4-inch LCD monitor with a 4 GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD, a 2.53 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 processor and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics. Meanwhile, the Sony VAIO FW Nebula boasts a 16.4-inch extra widescreen HD display, an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor (up to 3.06 GHz) with Intel Centrino 2 technology, an ATI HD Graphics card with up to 1 GB VRAM, up to 8 GB of configurable RAM, up to 500 GB HDD or 256 GB SSD, and up to 5.5-hours of battery life. Other features include Bluetooth, HDMI, and a webcam.

Sony shows their VAIO Signature Collection VGN-CW1FFX. Available in Royal Indigo, this limited edition gaming notebook features an nVidia GeForce GT 230M graphics card. This Sony notebook also feature a 320 GB hard drive with 4 GB of DDR3 memory, a built-in DVD/CD burner, a HDMI output, and an integrated webcam and microphone.

The Acer Aspire 5738DG notebook is powered by a 15.6-inch Acer CineCrystal HD display with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card with a 512 MB of DDR3 RAM, a 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320 GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, an 8x DVD super multi drive, an integrated Acer Crystal Eye Webcam, and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit. Other specifications include two stereo speakers, four USB 2.0 ports, and a 6-cell Li-ion battery. The Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D laptop is now available for $779.99.

External ports like the USB and the VGA are the ones that limit the thinness of the Vaio X notebook. So unless these ports are made smaller in future standards, I think this is the thinnest notebook ever.
