The touchscreen Nokia mobile phone gets larger and the Nokia N97 mini is surely one of the most interesting new recruits. The Finnish company has obviously reconsidered its priories and now focuses on optimization, rather than expansion with its flagships.

The original Nokia N97 was the first sign of that as it hardly offered any ground-breaking features, instead relaying on the good all-round performance. However the first high-end S60 touchscreen handset left enough room for another similar handset in the portfolio and Nokia feel that its downsized version is enough to fill the gap. Garmin-Asus made an annoucement that the nuvifone M20 smartphone is now available with Windows Mobile 6.5. This mobile phone will be released later this year in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Turkey Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Czech Republic. Sony Ericsson has thrown their latest promotional video of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. This new smartphone features a 4-inch touchscreen capacitive display with WVGA (800×480) resolution, an 8 MP camera with Autofocus, LED flash, image stabilizers, smile and face detection, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi b/g. Verizon Wireless has recently unveiled the LG Chocolate Touch mobile phone that has a touchscreen LCD display, a 3.2 MP camera with built in digital zoom and a range of software editing features. The mobile phone adopts an FM radio with 12 presets and has an access to a range of world’s favorite social networking sites including Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. The LG Chocolate Touch cell phone is available for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year contract on a Nationwide Calling Plan.

Verizon Wireless releases the highly anticipated Motorola Droid this November 6th, 2009 for $199 with a new two-year activation plan or voice plan after a $100 mail-in rebate. FYI, the Motorola smartphone features a Cortex A8 processor with a 16 GB of memory, a 3.7-inch LCD display, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and Google Android 2.0 OS. The Motorola Droid is currently available for pre-order at the Verizon website.
