Hewlett-Packard announces the launching of its line of ultra-cheap notebooks and desktops today. It turns out Hewlett-Packard wants to put a little new life into the Compaq brand they have acquired back in 2002, positioning Compaq brand not only as a label for extremely cheap PCs but as one with mainstream appeal in the U.S. as well.

This time Hewlett-Packard will certainly attract a lot of buyers with its new bargains, Compaq CQ61z notebook and Compaq Presario 4010f. Compaq Presario 4010f is a 15.6-inch desktop with an AMD Sempron CPU, 2 GB of RAM, DVD burner, 250 GB hard drive, and discrete graphics that runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. The price starts at just $309 after a $100 rebate.

Compaq Presario 4010f desktop is available for purchase on Windows 7 launch day, October 22.

Today Asus introduced the newest member of their series EeeBox nettop. Asus’ new nettop known as EeeBox EB1012, the computer is able to play 1080p Full HD video. The nettop powered by a Dual Core Intel Atom N330 processor with ION MCP7A Nvidia graphics, a 250 GB SATA hard drive and 2 GB DDR2-800 memory (up to 4 GB). Other specifications include HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WiFi, S / PIDF audio 5.1, 4 USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA port and SDHC card reader. Sorry, no info on pricing or availability yet.

Sandberg releases new HTPC-oriented wireless keyboard that comes in a nice design. With the Sandberg wireless keyboard you may operate both mouse and keyboard from the same device within a radius of up to 10 meters from your PC. The device is also equipped with shortcut keys for standard Windows applications, special keys to navigate Windows Vista Media Center, a built-in touchpad, and some LED indicators. The two AA batteries and User Guide are also included in the package. This nice equipment is priced at just £49 ($97).

Lenovo’s newly launched IdeaCentre K210 desktop holds the distinction of being the first desktop model to hit the markets outside of China from Lenovo, featuring the following specifications :-
