AT&T are expected to launch its version of BlackBerry 9700 (Onyx) as well, almost at the same time. All details of the release date and pricing are vague at this point.
There will be a lot in common with its predecessor BlackBerry 9000, such as its design. The back of the phone has a leather finish and the screen resolution has been increased from 480 by 320 to 480 by 360. The new BlackBerry will apply an optical trackpad instead, which means that there will not be a trackball as on the previous model. RIM has been doing this with all of its latest handsets.
